Key Changes: CLI Rename

We've renamed the Content Publisher CLI from pcc to cpub to reflect our product naming. This change affects all CLI commands and the associated NPM package.

CLI Command

• Old: pcc
• New: cpub

NPM Package

• Old: @pantheon-systems/pcc-cli
• New: @pantheon-systems/cpub-cli

Action Required

Please update your existing commands by replacing pcc with cpub. All flags and arguments remain the same. Deprecated pcc CLI still functional with warning messages.

To update your installation:

Additional Changes

• Connected Accounts are no longer tied to the user’s browser and has been migrated to server-side account management improving overall user experience
• Dashboard now displays user account subscription and usage allowing users to keep track of their account usage limits
• A search function has been added to the Collections dropdown in the Tokens modal for easier navigation in workspaces with many collections
• The App Router starter kit default installation no longer uses Static Site Generation (SSG)
• Minor bug fixes and UX improvements

Key changes

Collection metadata and publishing configurations are now managed via the Content Dashboard:

• Go to "Collection Settings > Metadata" in the Content Dashboard to manage custom metadata fields for a given collection.
  • Previously, this was done from the Google Docs Add-on via "About this collection > Page Metadata".
  • New metadata field capabilities have also been added, such as ordering fields or specifying both their label and their machine name independently.
• Use the entirely new "Collection Settings > Publishing" tab in the Content Dashboard to enable the following within the Google Docs Add-on for contributors across this collection:
  • Sections
  • Google Docs tabs

Additional changes

Bug fixes and other recent minor updates

• Starter kits and all Next.js applications have been updated to mitigate CVE-2025-55182 and CVE-2025-66478.
• The Ingest API previously only authorized Google accounts, but now accepts any authenticated user.
• Refactored the sign-in and sign-up experience for a smoother onboarding process including email verification. Country, state and other dropdowns now support keyboard navigation.
• Helper text added to collection creation for clarity. The playground guide also got improved with simplified navigation.
• SDK status endpoint no longer exposes version information for security reasons.
• Fixed glitch in component editor text fields that prevented input on some occasions.
• Disconnecting documents from collection now works as expected for content contributors.
• Fixed infinite page reload when navigating from add-ons to the collection structure.
• Preview now allows comparing published and submitted versions when reviewing content sent for approval.
• Permission menu entry in the Content Publisher dashboard is hidden for first-time users until a collection is created.
• The smart component add-on interface now clearly indicates when no components are configured, avoiding users to lose time trying to use a capability not yet configured.
• As well as several minor UX fixes and improvements

The Pantheon Content Publisher plugin is now officially available in the WordPress Plugin Repository. You can now install or update it directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Action required

We recommend that all customers switch their sites to the WordPress.org–hosted version to take advantage of seamless updates and improved long-term support. By switching, you’ll:

• Receive automatic update notifications and one-click upgrades within the WordPress admin panel
• Stay up to date with the latest security, stability, and compatibility improvements
• Benefit from WordPress’s official distribution system, including built-in changelogs, and version tracking

Switching to the repository version helps ensure your site runs the most stable and officially supported release of the plugin.

The following updates are now available for Content Publisher:

• New release of the Pantheon Content Publisher v1.0.3 Drupal module now availabe.
• With Approval Workflows enabled, Administrators now have the option to Approve submissions direclty from the Pending approval tab of a Collection in the Content Dashboard. Previously, opening each submission in Preview mode was required.
• The experience for Smart Components has been improved for first time users.
• Upgrade Content Publisher AI metadata suggestion to use Gemini 2.5 flash instead of Gemini 2.0.
• Bug fix for our Next.js starter kit and SDK to properly support Next.js 15.5 and the use of App Router. Improve the build process by using pinned versions of dependencies.
• Fix several event tracking issues in the back-end.

The following user interface enhancements are now available for Content Publisher:

• Disconnecting a Google Workspace account is now self-serve, previously required contacting support
• Refreshing collection status can now be done manually in the Content Dashboard
• Publishing to Pantheon’s playground now supports personal Gmail accounts

We have also released several minor bug fixes, user interface enhancements, and formatting issues - which don’t affect functionality, but do improve the end user experience.

Today, Pantheon's Content Publisher moves from Beta to Public Preview. In Beta, teams needed to request access to use Content Publisher. Now any team with a Google Workspace can sign up to use Content Publisher to publish to their website straight from Google Docs, with a free 30-day trial of our enterprise-level plan.

This promotion to Public Preview also reflects increased product maturity in areas like:

• Pricing information and free trial of enterprise-level features now publicly available.
• New releases for our Drupal module and WordPress plugin with bug fixes and feature improvements.
• Multiple Google Workspaces can now be connected to a single Content Publisher account.
• Content approval workflows that allow content editors to submit content to be approved and published by administrators.
• Live chat support now directly integrated within the Content Dashboard interface.

Today we are releasing v1.0 of Pantheon Content Publisher's Drupal module - a new contrib module for Drupal sites. This new module replaces the previous module that was used by earlier participants of the private beta program.

What's new?

This release marks a complete redesign of the Drupal integration for Content Publisher, and offers new functionality:

• Manages content as standard Drupal entities, rather than relying on Drupal Views for rendering.
• Metadata fields are now converted into standard Drupal configured fields.
• Search API support has been added, allowing Content Publisher content to be searched by Drupal with blended results alongside other Drupal content.
• Smart Components from Google Docs get represented as fieldable Drupal entities.
• Increased reliability for real-time previews.
• Improved configuration panel.

We have released a new version of the Content Publisher service (back-end + admin interface + Google Docs add-on + CLI + JS SDK v3.11.2).

What's new?

• Authentication tokens: You can now manage tokens from the Content Publisher administration interface settings. Previously, this was partially managed from the CLI.
• Ingest API: This open API allows developers to programmatically ingest content in Content Publisher from other 3rd party services.
• Include in search: New toggle added so you can easily include or exclude content from search.
